Media Manager

Published:

The Media Manager holds all of the assets that are displayed on your site. The folder structure is based on where in the site assets are displayed. Mostly this means by page. If you have questions about your specific folder structure or where specific assets should be stored, please reach out to support@theatertoolkit.com.

The only assets that are not stored in the Media Manager are generated assets such as movie posters and backdrops that are pulled in from TMDB.

Replacing Images

If you have images in certain places on the site that you want to simply replace, all you need to do is find the image and upload a new image in the same folder with the same file name. When the cache is refreshed, the new image will display in the appropriate place on the website.

Copying Image Links

In some cases when managing your website, you will need to get the link for a specific image. This can easily be done by finding the image you want, right clicking on it, and clicking Copy Link.

Copy Link - Performance
The copy link URL gives you the published CDN link which is different than where the image or pdf are uploaded. The CDN link is cached and will load much faster for your customers. The admin portal already automatically uses these links for you for movie posters, hero images, and other places where images are uploaded or applied in different forms. When using a link to an upload manually, you should always use the copy link CDN URL.

This is necessary when adding custom posters/backdrops to feature overrides in movie management. Custom posters and backdrops for features are stored in the posters folder inside of the features folder.
