Include add-ons in ticket price on RTS

Published:

Sometimes you want to include extra items or upcharges in your Ticket price, but don’t want those extras reported to studios as the actual ticket price.

In RTS you can create a Ticket Type with an associated Concession Item for the add-on portion of the ticket. In the Ticket Setup screen below, there is a Link Item Options section. You just need to setup a Concession Item for the add-on, then select it in the Link Item Options drop down. If you make it a variable price concession, then you can enter the Item Price as well as the Quantity for each ticket type.

For example, lets say you want to sales tickets for a “Dinner and Show” special. If you create a Concession Item called Dinner and Show, you could create an Adult Ticket with a ticket price of $10 and then select “Dinner and Show” as the linked item with an Item Amount of 1 and a Price of $40, and a Child Ticket with a ticket price of $8 and the “Dinner and Show” linked item with an Item Amount of 1 and a Price of $30, etc. Then you can setup a ticket class rule that contains those ticket types and apply it to the showtime, or you could select the ticket types individually, which you can see on the second screen below. This will allow customers to select the tickets showing the full price, but only the ticket prices are reported to studios, while the dinner portion is reported against the concession item.
